The Buchanans held their ancestral lands by the banks of Loch Lomond. They supported Robert the Bruce during the Wars of Independence, earning favour and lands. Known for their strong ties to the area of Balmaha, the clan later became renowned for their loyalty, resilience, and proud traditions.
