The Lindsays are an ancient Lowland clan whose origins lie in Anglo-Norman knights who settled in Scotland during the 12th century. Rising quickly in prominence, they produced earls, warriors, and statesmen, most notably the Earls of Crawford. Known for their political influence and martial reputation, the Lindsays played key roles throughout Scotland’s medieval and Renaissance history.
